tired of battling your nervous system?

in The Village we practice healthy relationship with our nervous systems – together.

you don’t have to fight or earn your way to feeling better… you just have to be willing to stay a while.

all of you is welcome here.

We don’t regulate nervous systems here.
we listen to them.

The Village is a gentle, spacious community for nervous systems that don’t thrive under performance, rooted in humanity, not control.

This space is especially shaped by and for the neurodivergent & highly sensitive.

in The Village, we assume:

  • your nervous system is adaptive, not defective
  • many “regulation tools” are experienced as coercive
  • safety emerges through relationship, not force
  • slowness allows truth to surface
  • nothing in you needs to be fixed to be welcome here

If this way of being makes sense to you, you may recognize yourself in what follows.

You’ve probably tried a lot of things to feel better. Some probably help a little… at least for a minute. But a lot leave you feeling more broken when they don’t work.

And you’re still experiencing things that are clearly telling you: you need a different kind of support.

Does any of this sound familiar?

the body cost

Stuck & Frozen

Faking Fine

Too Much & Never Enough

If you related to any of that, you may have noticed something: all of it gets worse when you're the only one holding it.

WHY MOST NERVOUS SYSTEM WORK falls short of what you need

If you’ve tried regulation techniques that didn’t last, or made you feel worse… if “calming practices” left you more anxious… if you’re exhausted from the rollercoaster of feeling better, then crashing again…

There’s a reason for that.

and I promise that it’s not because you did it wrong, didn’t try hard enough, aren’t truly invested in your healing, or are broken in any way.

Here are the 3 core reasons

why those approaches haven’t helped you like you hoped they would (and what makes the work we do in The Village different):

Most methods focus on control and domination.

They call it “regulation,” but what they mean is compliance. Control. Management. Getting you to a “socially acceptable” state where you’re calm, productive, and pleasant to be around.

But that’s not going to help you feel better in your body.

And here’s what you need to know:

regulation is itself a sympathetic (fight / flight) nervous system response.

You’re activating a threat response to manage a threat response. You’re using force to stop feeling forced. You’re at war with yourself… and wondering why you never feel safe.

Your nervous system doesn’t need to be controlled. It needs to be attended to. Listened to. Met with curiosity instead of correction. This is the difference between domination and relationship… and your system knows the difference.

They're selling you compliance.
The Village offers you relationship.

They treat your nervous system like a simple light switch.

they tell you you’re either regulated or dysregulated. Calm or activated. In one state or another. And when your experience doesn’t match their oversimplified binary, you think YOU’RE the problem.

But your nervous system doesn’t work in binaries. It works in blends.

You’re always experiencing multiple states at once. Activation mixed with shutdown. Safety threaded through protection. Your system is doing complex, nuanced, intelligent things simultaneously… and the other frameworks you’re learning can’t hold that complexity. Plus, they seem to think that because you’re activated, that is equivalent to dysregulation. They take your nervous system out of context which really gaslights the reality of your whole being.

You’re not dysregulated. You’re living in complex, blended states that their oversimplified, out of context teaching was never able to recognize.

They're selling you “either/or” binaries.
The Village offers you context, nuance, and respect for the complexity of your lived experience.

They pathologize your experience.

They’re teaching you that certain states are wrong. Broken. Something to fix.

And yes… you DO feel bad. That’s real. The overwhelm is real. The shutdown is real. The activation that won’t quit is real. You’re not making it up.

But when relief comes through pathologizing your states, you’re getting short-term comfort while missing the long-term wisdom.

You learn to escape activation… but never understand what it’s protecting. You learn to “fix” shutdown… but never discover it’s intelligence. You fragment yourself into “acceptable” parts and “dysfunctional” parts, and wonder why you still don’t feel whole.

The ANSEM™ model taught in The Village doesn’t pathologize. It sees you. ALL of you. Blended states with no hierarchy… no “good” responses to earn, no “bad” responses to eliminate. Just a nervous system doing exactly what it knows how to do, carrying wisdom worth understanding. And support to meet yourself with compassion where you are.

From that place of wholeness: no shame, no rejection, no war with yourself… you can actually find your way home to feeling like yourself again.

They're selling you relief through fragmentation.
The Village offers you healing through wholeness.

So... here's what actually matters:

Your nervous system didn’t learn to protect you in a vacuum.

It learned in relational contexts… through the ways you were seen, ignored, hurt, demanded of, or abandoned.

Which means the patterns it carries are

relational

patterns.

That doesn't mean the only way to heal is through relationship… or being surrounded by people.

It means you need context for what your system is doing…

...and that context becomes clearer when you're not the only one trying to figure it out alone.

and this is what we do together in

Colorful paint splatter forming the letter "V" above the words "the village" in black text.

this is what it looks like in practice...

A close-up black and white photo of a curled fern frond, with sharp shadows and a blurred background.

You sit down to work.

You can’t.

You don’t understand why.

You come into The Village and you say:

“I need to go through my email. It’s not even that many. I know what most of them are. But every time I open my inbox, I just… can’t. I stare at it. My chest gets tight. And then I close it and do something else. And now it’s been a week and I feel like such a failure over something so basic.”

And instead of productivity advice, you’re actually met.

and then...

A black, curved dashed line on a white background, bending in an S-shape from the bottom left to the top right.
Close-up of a green fern leaf with detailed fronds against a blurred green background.

Someone says...

God, I know that feeling. That specific dread of the inbox. Like you can feel the weight of every unopened message sitting on your chest.

and then…

I wonder… what if your nervous system learned that responding to people means they get to need more from you? What if email became the place where demands live… and shutting down is the only way you’ve learned to protect your capacity from being completely consumed?

And suddenly it clicks. The shutdown isn’t the problem… it’s been trying to solve one.

So now the question isn’t “how do I force myself to answer email?” The question becomes: “What would it feel like to open that inbox knowing you’re allowed to protect your capacity… that responding doesn’t mean you’re obligated to give everything?”

And that question? You can actually explore that here. Together. In real time.

This is what it looks like when your nervous system gets to be intelligent instead of problematic.

When protection gets understood instead of overridden.

When you discover that the safety you need to move forward was never on the other side of pushing through...

… it was in being met exactly where you are.

this is why I’d be so honored to welcome you to…

we’re here… because it’s not a program. Not just a course. Not another place to hustle our way into healing. it’s a living community where our nervous systems can finally exhale together!

its a place where we can:

  • Unmask without having to manage our state to belong
  • Learn how attunement actually works in a healthy nervous system
  • Co-attune with each other because we understand what it’s like to be neurodivergent, highly sensitive, or carrying trauma in a world that demands us to adapt
  • Be witnessed in our actual experience with compassion…not the performed version

The Nervous System Miracle - Fundamentals

the groundwork for safety

Before you have access to The Village exerience, you’ll complete this foundational course. It introduces you to the ANSEM™ and the distinctions that make this work different from everything else you’ve encountered.

Having this as the gateway into community serves as much for utility as protection. So we can go deep, and co-attune without constantly re-explaining the basics or having to find each other. It also serves as protection for you, so you’re not entering a space where you have to perform, prove, or translate.

Think of it as learning the local language before moving to a new country. Not because you’re unwelcome otherwise… but because it lets you actually arrive and be fully received once you’re here.

once you’ve completed the Nervous System Miracle: Fundamentals material, you get access to the full Village experience.

Nervous System Miracle guided Cohort

& certificate program

Inside The Village, there are times when a small group wants, and has the capacity for deeper, more focused work together.

Each year, I offer guided small-group containers rooted in the Nervous System Miracle framework.

These are not requirements.
They are not levels you have to complete. And they’re not always running.

They’re offered seasonally, when there’s enough shared safety, readiness, and desire to go deeper together.

Each container is:

  • clearly structured
  • time-bound (usually 2–6 months)
  • held in a small group (4 – 10 ppl max)

The cohorts are oriented around:

  • deepening the Nervous System Miracle material
  • living more deeply inside the ANSEM
  • the 3 Characteristics of Autonomic Tone
You don’t need to decide about any of this now.

Many people stay in The Village for a long time without ever joining a small-group container, and that is not only okay, it’s honored.

The Village supports you to stop fighting your nervous system and start being in relationship with it.

And when you do... here's what shifts:

Your Body Finally Stops Panicking

Less anxiety • Less tension • Better sleep • Happier gut • Stronger immunity

Your chest stops buzzing and your mind stops racing long enough to breathe like a human being again.

Your shoulders drop, your jaw releases, and your whole body stops clenching all the time.

You fall asleep faster, stay asleep longer, and stop waking up feeling like you ran a marathon.

Your stomach unclenches, digestion evens out, and going to the bathroom stops being a whole event.

Your Mind Comes Back Online

clearer thinking • less overthinking • better focus • more creativity

The fog lifts and you can finally finish a thought without losing the thread.

The endless mental loop slows down and you stop replaying the same conversation all day.

You can switch on when you need to, instead of needing hours to “get in the right headspace.

Your brain actually has space to come up with ideas instead of fighting fires all day.

Your Emotions Stop Running the Show

easier emotions • fewer knee-jerk reactions • less self-sabotage • letting go of old pain

You can feel things without melting down, shutting off, or running away.

You stop snapping, shutting down, or panicking before you even know what’s happening.

You don’t wreck your own progress because you’re scared… your system isn’t panicking anymore.

You stop reacting to today like it’s yesterday. The past stops ambushing you in the middle of the night.

Relationships Stop Feeling Like Landmines

real boundaries • healthier relationships • sending texts without spiraling

You say “no” without over-explaining, apologizing, or spiraling for the next three hours.

You stop over-giving, over-reading, and overreacting… and the people around you feel easier to be with.

You hit send on the message and move on instead of spiraling through twelve possible reactions.

You stop bracing for people’s reactions because your system isn’t in fight-or-flight around connection anymore.

Your Life Stops Falling Apart Every Time You’re Tired

more resilience • no more burnout cycles • staying functional • catching spirals early • not losing yourself in shutdown

You don’t lose whole days to recovery… you can keep living your life.

You stop running yourself into the ground because you can feel the warning signs earlier.

You notice the first sign of overload and shift before everything blows up.

You go quiet without disappearing. You can come back online faster and with less shame.

You Finally Feel Like You’re On Your Own Side

confidence • trust in your inner voice • more control over your life • working with your nervous system

You walk into a room and your body doesn’t freak out… you feel steady and solid.

You actually hear what you want, not what everyone else expects from you.

You make choices because you want to… not because your stress response is steering the wheel.

You stop fighting your own body and start listening to it… and everything gets easier.

let’s do this

together!

meet steve

and connick

My joy is supporting sensitive, neurodivergent, and overwhelmed humans to stop fighting their nervous system and instead, learn how to be in healthy relationship with it.

I know this work because I’ve lived it. I’m a 53-year-old autistic gay man who survived extensive childhood sexual abuse, religious trauma, coming out as a gay man then losing all of my family / friends overnight, and years of addiction. I spent decades trying to escape and fix myself – chasing “normal” like it was something I could earn through enough effort.

That approach nearly killed me. More than once.

What saved me wasn’t another technique. It was learning to stop abandoning the parts of me that were trying desperately to keep me safe.

also...

My special brand of magic is helping you compassionately navigate the nervous system challenges that trauma, neurodivergence, and chronic overwhelm present – in a way that honors your wholeness while creating actual, tangible change. I bring 20+ years of coaching experience and training in somatic trauma therapy, parts work, and nervous system science.

Here’s what I know: Your nervous system learned to protect you in response to relationship – the ways you were hurt, demanded of, or abandoned. Which means it also heals best in relationship.

You don’t need more techniques. You need companionship. You need to not be alone in this anymore. this is what we do together in The Village.

is The Village a good fit for you?

you’ll feel at home if…

You don’t need to be “into community” to belong here.

You can watch. You can lurk. You can engage when you have capacity and go quiet when you don’t.

If this feels like you, you’re welcome here.

it’ll be awkward if…

This is deep work.

It dives into sovereignty, self-containment, surrender… the essential elements of your being and the keys to nervous system wellbeing.

This isn’t just about fight, flight, and freeze. This is about understanding what’s present or missing when you go into those states, so you can be in relationship with yourself when your nervous system is activated.

This is profound work. And it asks something of you.

Not performance. Not constant participation.

But willingness. Curiosity. Presence.

if this doesn’t feel like you… it’s gonna be awkward.

The Real Thing About Engagement…

You can absolutely consume without giving. Watch without speaking. Lurk for months. And you’ll still benefit.

But here’s what I’ve learned: nervous systems don’t fully transform in isolation. They transform through being witnessed. Through letting other nervous systems see you… even when (especially when) you’re not “regulated.”

So while you’re welcome to take your time, this isn’t a membership site with hundreds of silent observers. It’s an intimate space where people become familiar. Where your name is known. Where something about you is known because people actually see you, hear you, connect with you.

I’m looking for a small number of the right people who are willing… even if they need to start slow. Because our nervous systems need to be known to be truly held.

The invitation to be fully seen is always there. The choice of when (or if) is always yours.

this is

personal...

The Village isn’t just a business… it’s also very personal to me.

But everyone who comes here matters. You become a being that I care about.

I’m not trying to build an empire. I’m not trying to scale to thousands of members.

I’m trying to build something more intimate than that.

Something that feels like… not quite family (too corny), but… a place where you’re known. Where you matter. Where your nervous system can rest because it’s held by other nervous systems who understand.

My joy is supporting sensitive, neurodivergent, and overwhelmed humans to stop fighting their nervous system and instead learn how to be in healthy relationship with it.

You don’t need more techniques. You need companionship.

The Village isn’t just a place to learn or connect. It’s a field of presence.

Care still needs structure.
Here’s what that looks like...

the structure

$75 monthly

sliding scale available (to $25) – because accessibility matters

(You get the same access no matter what you pay.)

What’s Included:

In The Village you have a place to return to… for years, for a season, for however long you need.

The Commitment

Month to month. No lock-in.

You can pause. You can leave. You can return during enrollment periods.

I want to respect your nervous system’s autonomy, your agency, your self-containment.

Enrollment Timing

Enrollment only happens once or twice per year.

This isn’t scarcity marketing. This is the actual structure. The rhythm of how this space works.

If you leave and want to return, you’ll need to wait for the next enrollment period.

Why? Because we begin together, move through the year together, and deepen without constant churn. this allows the field to stay coherent and sustainable…  for both of us.

you are

welcome!

The Village isn’t about growth, hustle, or constant transformation.

It’s about staying with yourself.
Learning how to be in relationship with your nervous system, and with others, in ways that don’t cost you more than you have to give.

Come as you are.
Lurk or share.
Move at your own pace.

If this feels like home, you’re welcome here.

frequently asked questions

No. The Village is designed specifically for neurodivergent and highly sensitive nervous systems. The pace, the language, the structure… it’s all built around the reality of how your system actually works, not how productivity culture says it should work.

You don’t have to be. You can watch from the edges. You can lurk for months. The magic happens when you’re willing to be seen, but there’s no requirement to perform or participate at any particular level. Your pace is honored here.

Good. Your skepticism is wisdom. Your nervous system is protecting you from one more disappointment. This isn’t about quick fixes or miracle cures. It’s about relationship… with yourself and with others who understand. If you’re skeptical of that too, this probably isn’t for you, and that’s okay.

Sliding scale down to $25/month. Same access. No different tiers. Because accessibility matters, and your financial situation doesn’t determine your worth or your access to support.

If $25/month is still too steep for you, please reach out and let me know what you need.

Yes. Month to month. But enrollment only opens once or twice per year, so if you leave and want to return, you’ll need to wait for the next enrollment period. This isn’t a punishment… it’s how we maintain the seasonal rhythm and coherence of the space.

because of how we structure Village membership, refunds are not given.

If you decide to leave mid-month, your ongoing payment arrangement will be cancelled and you will continue to have access until your current period ends.

The Village is not crisis support or therapy. If you’re in acute crisis, please reach out to a mental health professional, crisis line, or emergency services first. The Village is for ongoing nervous system education, community support, and relational healing… not crisis intervention.

No. You can receive without giving. You can observe without speaking. Many people watch for weeks or months before they feel ready to engage. That’s completely welcomed. The invitation to be seen is always there, but it’s never a requirement.

The good news is that there’s nothing to keep up with. The content is designed to be accessible when you have capacity. Live gatherings are recorded. You can go at your own pace. Rest weeks are built into the structure. This space is designed for nervous systems that need flexibility, not ones that can maintain constant engagement.

Because it’s built differently from the ground up. The pace is slow. The expectations are minimal. The structure honors rest. The philosophy rejects toxic positivity and performance. And I’m actively keeping it small and intimate rather than scaling to hundreds of people. But I also can’t promise it will work for you… only you can determine that.

The Village is ongoing community with weekly/monthly touchpoints, practices, and support. The live cohorts are intensive 2 – 6 month programs that go much deeper into the ANSEM™ teaching and application. They’re optional, and cost extra. You can be in The Village without ever taking the cohorts. But they’re there when you’re ready for deeper work.

No. You need to have a nervous system. This work is for anyone who wants to understand how their system works and be in better relationship with it… whether you identify as having trauma, are neurodivergent, highly sensitive, or just want to understand yourself better.

As much or as little as you have. The weekly touchpoints take 2 – 3 minutes. Meditations are 15-20 minutes. Monthly live gatherings are 60-90 minutes (recorded if you can’t attend). Immersions are 5 to 10 days but only take 15 to 20 minutes per day to participate and are designed to be integrated into your life, not added on top of it. You decide what you engage with based on your capacity.
